Planning coming along a pace...

….a snail’s pace!!

Quite difficult with most of us working to be able to dedicate the time to this that we’d like. I think we are pretty much agreed on our Day one plans though.

So (subject to confirmation);

Day -1 – we shall all congregate in the Tetbury locale, where welcome drinks will be taken and final plans for the Day 1 ride will be discussed.

Day 1 – Ride from Tetbury down to A38 near J13 M5. Head north to Gloucester, out the other side on the A40 towards Ross. Turn off through the Forest of Dean on the A4136 towards Monmouth. Along the A40 towards Abergavenny. Turn off onto the A465, then the A4077 to Crickhowell, A40 again, then onto the A479 then A470 to Builth Wells. Back onto the A470 till just before Rhayader, where we will, if our timings are correct, stop to watch the feeding of the local Red Kite population. Why do they have to feed them, I don’t know. Maybe they don’t like lamb! From there it’s a jump across the A470 to detour into the Elan Valley and do a circular route passing by the reservoirs. Back on the A470, we follow that all the way into Betws-y-Coed, where we shall rest up for the night.
